During your stay at Rio Chirripo, enjoy everything from yoga, to hiking, to visiting one of the most interesting National Parks in the country, the Ballena National Park. Try our dolphin & whale boat adventure, feel the warm sand under your toes and return to your mountain retreat for more adventures like a fun tour of the secret gardens, swim in the hot springs and tasting tours of all kinds!
We have included the following activities and tours to your package
Daily yoga practice
Daily yoga in included for those joining a yoga retreat. If you are not joining a specific yoga retreat, we will offer you three complimentary classes during the week and you can join more paid classes if you’d like! Rio Chirripo specializes in yoga retreats and small-group adventures.
Dolphin & Whale boat adventure + Visit of Ballena National Park
Enjoy a full day at the beach including our exciting dolphin & whale watching boat tour on the Pacific Ocean. This area is home to many species of dolphins that live here yearlong as well as groups of visiting humpback whales that come from the North and South poles to feed their young in the warm waters of the tropics. (Includes transportation, boat tour, entrance fee to the Ballena National Park and leisure time at the beach. Lunch optional or complimentary packed lunch available.)

Cloudbridge Reserve and half day hike
Situated in a beautiful and remote cloud forest, Cloudbridge is a twenty minute drive from the lodge and is a unique private nature reserve. Enjoy a guided hike in this lush primary forest where you can spot a variety of birds and other wildlife.
Secret Gardens and visit of hot springs
Visit narrow winding trails through the Secret Garden as you encounter a myriad of native and non-native flowers and plants. Next take a short drive up the mountain to invigorating hot springs fed by a natural source. Here you can relax and unwind.
Chocolate tasting tour
Meet Tao, our very own chocolatier. Try Costa Rican chocolates from 100% cacao to milk chocolates and try to guess what other ingredients are used? It is a fun activity to do, plus you’ll get to eat chocolate the whole time!
Cheese Factory
Tour a local family’s dairy operation and learn the process of making cheese. You’ll enjoy tasting them all of course!
Coffee Tour
This tour will take you through the entire process of an organic coffee production farm. It includes a typical lunch and bilingual guide. Part of this tour takes place in a coffee field so bring your hat and sunscreen!
Bird watching tour in Cloudbridge Reserve
The Chirripo are is blessed with hundreds of colourful birds. For those who enjoy bird watching, this are will surely meet your expectations.
Savegre River Rafting
If you are looking for adventure you must raft the Savegre River, one of the cleanest and most pristine rivers in Costa Rica. We highly recommend Autentico Adventures, a family operated business with professionally certified guides.
