Discover Chirripo and the surrounding area
Chirripo National Park, the wildlife and forest reserves that border it, are a unique destination to explore. One of UNESCO world heritage sites, the Talamanca mountain range is one of the most amazing wonders of nature in Costa Rica. Chirripo peak is the highest mountain in the country at 3829m (12 533 feet), and second highest in Central America. From the summit, it is possible on clear days to see all across the country from coast to coast, from the Pacific Ocean to the Caribbean Sea.
Besides the challenge of climbing Costa Rica’s highest peak (Cerro Chirripo) there are miles of trails that wind trough more ecological zones than you will find in most entire countries.
Our escape will take you to the foot of this famous mountain range, home to many species of birds, flowers and other exotic wildlife. Stay in the small town of Canaan where you’ll find specialty shops that sell various homemade products. If you enjoy tasting the flavours of locally produced foods, then you’ll love to try homemade cheeses, chocolates and locally grown coffee!

Together, we’ll wander through a lush cloud forest ecosystem where tapirs, jaguars, toucans, and a dazzling variety of birds and lizards call home.
This magical corner of Costa Rica is often praised for having the perfect climate — sunshine-filled warm days, cozy cool nights, and fresh mountain air that feels like nature’s own air conditioning. Many say it’s the best climate in the country… and maybe even the world.
Where the Ocean Meets the Rainforest
Leave the mountains for a day and journey to Ballena National Park, famous for its iconic Whale’s Tail — a natural sand formation visible only at low tide. The park is also known for its lush rainforest canopy, abundant wildlife, and seemingly endless coastline.
Together, we’ll venture into the warm Pacific waters in search of playful dolphins and majestic humpback whales, who migrate here each winter to give birth and nurse their young between January and April.
